administrative backend, built on the 9vINTRANET product complete with full
content editing, auditing, sales management, and user tracking.
in addition, wireless and pda versions of the website were crafted to
access the 10Best data so that travelers stay connected wherever they may be.
middleware software based on xml data transfers for 10Best partners provides
content syndication to other travel related content providers. 9 Volt Net
also created a distributed application environment to handle scalability,
reliability, and data integrity of the website and database under very high
loads.

as a leading DSL provider in the southeast, nuvox came to 9 Volt Net
looking for a website creation tool that both their business and residential
DSL customers could use to easily build custom websites. among their
many requirements was the need for this tool to be highly configurable,
expandable, and compatible with the existing unix infrastructure that
had and continues to provide enterprise class ISP hosting. working
with erwin-penland advertising agency for graphics and design collateral,
9 Volt Net custom built this online website creation tool. highly
configurable, yet with a simple interface, nuvox
customers can choose from various visual styles, pick and customize
layouts and templates, utilize graphics libraries on hand and
even upload their own multimedia. in addition, customers can easily
through this same software, setup and manage an online catalogue, including
a shopping cart feature and secure online ordering. all managed online
through a web-browser interface, obviating the need for nuvox
customers to install and configure software.

homepoint.com was among 9 Volt Net's more ambitious projects. a next
generation product developed from the original furniturepoint.com (also
designed by 9 Volt Net), it encompasses a spectrum of websites
devoted to home furnishings, including furniturepoint.com, accessorypoint.com,
lightingpoint.com, and wallartpoint.com. all websites are programmed
using 9 Volt Net technologies that allow for these sites to dynamically create
themselves on the fly while at the sime time, sharing a common code base for
cross-site maintainability and ease of enhancements. there are numerous
features including categorical searching, keyword searching, coordinated
items, multiple image handling, comment areas, user management, automated
site special and site feature handling, and customized ecommerce tools.
this site takes full advantage of the 9volt INTRANET to manage inventory,
users, tracking, ordering, statistics, and mailing lists, as well as internal
plugins such as the bulletin boards system, to allow for effective
collaboration internally. homepoint.com is currently undergoing a
transition to a B2B model and the consumer site has been put on hold
until the transition is complete.
